HS Roundup 5/5: Springboro edges LaSalle, Tecumseh beats Bellbrook

Springboro 5, LaSalle 4: Spencer Virtue went 4-for-4 from the leadoff spot to spur Springboro. Tyler Kean and Logan Zier each drove in a pair of runs and Calvin Walters added a triple.

Tecumseh 10, Bellbrook 2: Gavin Wasson doubled and drove in three runs, Hunter Minton tallied a triple with two RBI and Payton Shannon went the distance on the mound for Tecumseh. Jacob Schmidt had a pair of doubles for Bellbrook.

Northeastern 8, Triad 7: Grant Hodson’s seventh inning hit brought in the game winning run for Northeastern. Hodson, Skylar Davis and Dylan Hand each had multiple hits for Northeastern. Tommy Tossey hit a double for Triad.

Greeneview 8, Southeastern 3: Ian Tamplin and Mitchell Hines had two hits apiece and Tommy Rawlins struck out six in a complete game to pace Greeneview.

Mississinawa Valley 9, Covington 4: Mississinawa Valley scored six runs in the seventh inning for the rally victory. Trent Collins and Matt Slob led the way with two hits apiece.

Fort Loramie 2, West Liberty-Salem 0: C.J. Billing earned the win on the mound for Fort Loramie in the first game of a doubleheader. Trevor Woodruff took the tough luck loss for West Liberty-Salem.

Fort Loramie 10, West Liberty-Salem 4: Jared Middendorf picked up the win on the mound for Fort Loramie in game two. Jacob Vanhorn had three hits in a losing effort for WLS.

Parkway 11, New Knoxville 1: Breydun Bruns struck out five in picking up the win for Parkway. Chaz Neuenschwander, Clayton Agler and Nick Riley each had multiple hits.

Softball

Northmont 11, Northwestern 9: Anna Mangen doubled and tripled and D.J. Shepherd, Sydney Weaver and Sydney McGilton each had two doubles to help Northmont salvage a doubleheader split. Jenna Robbins and Bry White each had a home run for Northwestern.

Northwestern 3, Northmont 1: Cassidy Christian homered, Jamie Rutherford tripled and Jenna Robbins picked up the win on the mound for Northwestern in the first game of a doubleheader. Cassy Lewis and Anna Mangen each had a double for Northmont.

Badin 12, Hamilton 0: Sara Fields and Maddie Curtner each brought in three runs, with Curtner hitting a pair of doubles to lead Badin. Nicole Rawlings struck out six to pick up the win.

Monroe 10, Waynesville 3: Faith Hensley homered and added two RBI and two stolen bases to pace Monroe. Alyssa Wagner picked up the win in relief to improve to 15-1. Jenny Lawrence had one hit and one RBI for Waynesville.

Arcanum 7, Springfield 1: Eva Siculan and Gracie Garno tallied three hits apiece and Ellie Siculan, Sydney Artz, Elliana Sloan and Emma Archer added two hits each to pace Arcanum.

Twin Valley South 15, Northridge 2: TVS took control with six runs in the third inning and five in the fourth in the first game of a doubleheader. Naomi Silvey and Autumn Belcher each had a RBI in a losing effort for Northridge.

Twin Valley South 12, Northridge 8: In game two TVS pushed across eight runs in the third inning to take a big lead. Naomi Silvey had two triples and four RBI for Northridge.

Mechanicsburg 13, Greenon 1: Audrey Ayars doubled and brought in three runs, Kasey Schipfer doubled and drove in two and Francys King earned the win on the mound for ‘Burg.

Boys Volleyball

Alter 3, Olentangy 1: Josh Kabel put up 44 assists, Dan Nye added 13 kills with 19 digs and Andrew Rose added on seven kills with six aces to help Alter knock off state-ranked Olentangy.
