HS Roundup 2/7: National Trail boys clinch CCC title, first since 2003

National Trail took home its first Cross County Conference title since 2003 with a 58-50 win at Mississinawa Valley in boys basketball action on Friday night.

Cameron Harrison poured in 27 points and Zach Woodall and Tyler Weathington each added 13.

Blake Scholl paced Mississinawa Valley with 13 points.

Trail improved to 18-3 overall and 11-0 in league play and will close the regular season against Franklin Monroe on Friday.

Boys Basketball

Alter 75, Purcell Marian 42: Brady Uhl chipped in 20 points, Conor Stolly 17 and Alter improved to 11-1 in conference play.

Beavercreek 49, Fairmont 42: Chris Herbort was 8-of-10 from the field for 17 points to lead Beavercreek and Braden Grant added 12 points off the bench. Kaleb Hall had 13 points for Fairmont.

Bethel 48, Ansonia 41: Ethan Rimkus finished with 17 points, Trevor Walker 14 and Nick Schmidt 13 for Bethel. Reece Stammen had 11 points to lead Ansonia.

Carlisle 76, Dixie 48: Nolan Burney led four players in double-digit scoring for Carlisle with 20 points. Burney also grabbed 20 rebounds.

Catholic Central 54, Southeastern 45: Ian Galluch totaled 16 points for Catholic Central. Bryce Grim paced Southeastern with 16 points.

Chaminade Julienne 60, Roger Bacon 48: Dan Nauseef spurred Chaminade Julienne with a double-double effort of 22 points with 11 rebounds. Larry Turner added 14 points with eight rebounds.

Cin. Christian 81, Norwood 49: K.J. Swain led five players in double-digit scoring for Cin. Christian with 18 points. Logan Woods added 17 and Devin McKinnon 11.

Fairfield 62, Sycamore 53: Zavian Ricks had 23 points, including shooting 7-of-8 from the foul line, to lead Fairfield.

Fort Recovery 49, St. Henry 40: Derek Jutte totaled 16 points and Fort Recovery pulled away with an 18-10 run in the final quarter. Riley Link paced St. Henry with 16 points.

Greeneview 58, Cedarville 56: Gabe Caudill and Rhett Burtch combined for 41 points for Greeneview. Trent Koning and Isaiah Ramey scored 14 points apiece for Cedarville.

Greenville 50, Piqua 46: Marcus Wood turned in 15 points and Foster Cole added 11 for Greenville. Iverson Ventura led Piqua with 12 points.

Hamilton 53, Mason 40: Jackson Lewis scored 19 points and Kristian Walton hauled in 10 rebounds for Hamilton. Matt Smith paced Mason with 16 points.

Lakota West 61, Colerain 45: Julian Mackey dropped in 13 points, Carter Combs added 11 and Nate Dudukovich 10 to lead Lakota West.

Lehman Catholic 48, Temple Christian 45: Brendan O’Leary led the way for Lehman Catholic with 15 points and Justin Chapman tacked on 10.

Madison 56, Northridge 39: Grant Whisman paced Madison with 24 points and Matt Gomia tacked on 10. Madison improved to 18-2. Darryl Story Jr. and Cameron Evans each had 10 points for Northridge.

Miami East 58, Newton 49: Sam Zapadka poured in 26 points to pace Miami East. Kleyson Wehrley led Newton with 15 points.

Miamisburg 53, Northmont 47: Anthony Coppock and Colin Murphy each tallied 10 points to lead Miamisburg.

Milton-Union 81, Waynesville 76: The teams combined for 57 points in a thrilling final quarter. Blake Brumbaugh poured in 27 points, Sam Case added 18 and Andrew Lambert 14 for Milton-Union.

Minster 64, New Knoxville 40: Justin Nixon finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Minster. Jacob Salazar added 14 points and Trent Roetgerman 12.

New Bremen 39, Marion Local 26: Nolan Bornhorst paced New Bremen with 16 points and Reece Busse added 10.

Northwestern 47, Urbana 44: Korbin Spencer had 17 points and Matthew Hart 12 points with 11 rebounds to lead Northwestern.

Springfield 65, Lebanon 53: Nick Pierett had 14 points and Blake Lamb 11 rebounds in the loss for Lebanon.

Stebbins 80, Xenia 50: Jalen Tolbert scored 19 points, Jakob Reed 16 and Stebbins drained a dozen three-pointers in the win. Shawn Thigpen paced Xenia with 13 points.

Tri-County North 75, Franklin Monroe 66: Brian Stinson led the way for TCN with 25 points.

Versailles 46, Coldwater 35: Michael Stammen recorded 15 points and Connor VanSkyock tacked on 13 for Versailles. Will Broering and Ethan Post each had 10 points for Coldwater.

West Jefferson 51, Triad 45: Batai Lease had 16 points and Dillon Nott 11 in a losing effort for Triad.

West Liberty-Salem 55, Mechanicsburg 49: Matthew Loffing totaled 17 points and Eli McGill 10 for WLS. Kyle Smith led ‘Burg with 13 points.
