HS Roundup 9/4: Graham and Urbana volleyball fight till the end

Urbana girls volleyball played five tight matches in a losing effort against Graham on Tuesday.

Leading for Urbana was Taylor Adams who had 33 assists and 11 digs followed by Emily Skelley with 10 kills and 20 digs.

Urbana’s record is now 3-3 after set scores of 8-25, 16-25, 25-23, 25-20 and 10-15 on Tuesday.

Boys Golf

Anna 164, Fort Loramie 168: Co-medalists Bryce Cobb from Anna and Caeleb Meyer from Fort Loramie scored a 39. In second was Cole Maurer from Anna with a 40.

Ben Logan 174, Liberty Hills 185: Ethan Ricketts led Ben Logan with a 35 and made a birdie earning medalist honors against William McDavid from Liberty Hills. Kaiden Weaks was second for Ben Logan scoring a 41.

Fairbanks 158, Cedarville 182: Leading for Fairbanks was Alex Crowe with a 38 and Travis Brake who scored a 39. In a tie, Cedarville’s Adam Wood and Caleb Smith tallied a 42.

Firebird Invite: Leading for Graham was Andy Milligan with a shot of 84 followed by Nick Roberts with a 90.

Greeneview 176, Triad 193: Mason Whitt of Greeneview shot a 38 earning medalist honors followed by Matt Hoven with a 43. Leading Triad was Coy Knotts shooting a 45.

Jackson Center 177, Botkins 181: Leading Botkins and earning medalist honors, Nick Fischio scored a 38 followed by Trent Platfoot with a 41 from Jackson Center.

Tecumseh 181, Kenton Ridge 183: Earning medalist honors was Pierce Grimpe of Tecumseh who recorded a 40. Drew Sarihan scored a 46 and Ethan Conley shot a 47 for Tecumseh.

Ben Logan 182, Anna 209, Riverside 227, Graham 263: Leading for Ben Logan and earning medalist honors was Mailiis Simovart scoring a 38 followed by Sydney Wesson with a 40.

Coldwater 201, Parkway 215: Earning medalist honors was Haylee Stuckey from Parkway with a 45 followed by Grace Buschur with a 49 for Coldwater.

Fairbanks 206, Buckeye Valley 213: Leading for Fairbanks was Veronique Grand scoring a 50 followed by Allison Kise, Shelby Jones and Gabby Vamos with shooting a 52.

National Trail 182, Bethel 216: Makenna Jones earned first overall with an even par of 36 for National Trial. Teammates Savanna Abner recorded a 47 followed by Caitlin Gilland with a 48.

Triad 224, Greeneview 239: Leading Triad and earning first overall was Kayleigh Boldman who recorded a 46. Teammate Olivia Butz scored a 53 and Rachel Strickle of Greeneview tallied a 52.

Boys Soccer

Alter 2, Chaminade Julianne 1: The goals made for Alter were by Joel Bockelman and Dominic Raffolo. The goal made for CJ was by Eric Cervantes and assisted by Andre Barnes.

Continental 3, Temple Christian 1: Temple’s keeper, Cody Motter, made 8 saves and Joshua Engle recorded one goal while Daniel Engle had one assist. For Continental, Mitchell Coleman, Konnor Okuley and Cole Bowers all made one goal and keeper, Trevor Brecht, tallied 3 saves.

Girls Soccer

Allen East 1, Coldwater 1: In a tight game Coldwater had 21 shots compared to Allen East’s 12 but only one goal counted for each. For Coldwater, Mallory Kremer had a pass to Ava Giere that tied up the score.

Greeneview 4, Bethel 0: Scoring two goals for Greeneview was Faith Rutherford while other goals were made by Alexa Simpson and Kayli Vipperman.

Girls Tennis

Miamisburg 4, Fairmont 1: Mary Kate Bussert and Eden Hill of Miamisburg both won their singles match. Teammates Adrienne Bussert and Mikenzie Hindenlang followed by Kate Daugherty and Cassie Wright won in doubles.

Girls Volleyball

Coldwater 3, Wapakoneta 0: Lauren Gilliland of Coldwater recorded 16 kills, four aces and six digs followed by Katie Alig with one block, five aces and six digs.

Jackson Center 3, Fort Loramie 2: Fort Loramie played a tight game against Jackson center with set scores of 17-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-19 and 16-18. Leading for Ft. Loramie was Marissa Meiring with 23 kills and Maya Maurer recording 28 assists.

Kettering Fairmont 3, Wayne 0: Kettering Fairmont’s Katie Franz and Cornie Cannarozzi recorded 10 digs followed by Emma Meyer with seven kills and six aces.

National Trail 3, Newton 2: Leading for National Trail was Tristan Bowers with 12 kills, 12 assists, five aces and a block followed by Lexi Steiner with a block, two block assists and seven kills.

Tippecanoe 3, Butler 0: Izzy Crow totaled 32 assists for Tippecanoe followed by Rachel Wildermuth with 12 kills and six blocks.
