HS Roundup 1/25: Ferrell scores 36, Franklin tops Oakwood

The Franklin girls basketball team routed SWBL rival Oakwood, 67-59.

Layne Ferrell shot 14-for-14 from the line to put up 36 points for Franklin.

Emily Newton tacked on 14, while Jordan Rogers had 13.

Lauren Hapgood’s 26 points led Oakwood in the loss.

Margie Conrath and Kylie Neff each chipped in 14 for Oakwood.

The win moves Franklin to 5-4 in conference, 13-5 overall. Oakwood drops to 5-5 in conference, 9-7 overall.

Girls Basketball

Beavercreek 49, Carroll 39: Carmen Williams dropped 11 points in the ‘Creek win. Julia Keller countered with 11 of her own in the losing effort.

Springboro 73, Springfield 34: Jordan Diehl recorded 20 points in the ‘Boro win, while Rachel Gillum tacked on 15. McKayla Perdue and Jai’cee Carson scored seven each in the loss.

Bellbrook 42, Monroe 41: Olivia Greathouse netted 15 points, shooting for seven from the free throw line. Olivia Wells-Daniels put up 11 in the loss.

Eaton 42, Edgewood 25: Emily Dungan shot for seven from the free throw line, putting up 13 in the win. Cassie Hunt had nine for Edgewood.

Milton-Union 61, Dixie 36: Kristen Dickison added 29 points to her season total, tacking on six steals, four rebounds and four assists. McKinlee Ruppert netted 16 for Dixie.

Valley View 69, Brookville 27: Hunter Stidham recorded 18 points in the win over Brookville. Bailyn Kimberlin had seven in the loss.

Waynesville 70, Madison 25: Aubrey Rains notched her 1,000th career point in the win, scoring 19 on the night. Kenzi Saunders shot for nine for Madison.

Alter 49, Tecumseh 48: Riley Priest netted 13 points in the Alter win. Presley Griffitts led all scorers with 18 for Tecumseh.

Thurgood 53, Meadowdale 13: Amari Scales tallied 14 points in the TM win. Mya Duaso put up six for Meadowdale.

Legacy Christian 60, Jefferson 12: Daniel Matthews netted 14 points in the win. Margaret Kensinger added on 10.

Cedarville 62, Mechanicsburg 59: Izzy Bolender’s 23 points helped secure a close victory over ‘Burg for Cedarville. Kasey Schipfer countered with 24 in the loss.

Greeneview 64, Greenon 61, OT: Frankie Fife netted 23 points in the overtime win. Reagan Ware put up 25 in the loss.

Arcanum 43, Newton 35: Kayla O’Daniel and Gracie Garno chipped in 14 points each in Arcanum’s victory. Tatum McBride had 15 points in Newton’s loss.

Bradford 54, Mississinawa Valley 19: Skipp Miller netted 21 points in the win.

Franklin Monroe 44, Southeastern 16: Corina Conley shot for 12 points in the win. Leslie Flores scored six in the loss.

Miami East 52, Covington 40: Haley Howard notched 15 points in the ME victory. Samantha Whiteman countered with 23 for Covington.

Tri County North 65, Ansonia 44: Aubrey Stupp netted 26 points for TCN in the win. Trinity Henderson scored 15 in the loss.

Tri-Village 51, Twin Valley South 21: Andi Bietry recorded 12 points for Tri-Village. Kelsie Shafer tallied nine for TVS. Mylan Crews captured the TVS career steals record with 258 on the season.

Coldwater 57, St. Henry 35: Maura Hoying netted 14 points in the Coldwater win. Lauren Gilliland added on 12 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two assists for the near double double.

New Bremen 49, New Knoxville 35: Macy Puthoff led with 13 points in the NB victory. Megan Jurosic had 10 for NK.

Versailles 46, Minster 39: Kami McEldowney added 15 points to her season total in the win. Taylor Kogge netted 14 for Minster.

Elida 54, St. Marys 42: MaKenna Mele had 16 points in the loss. Syd and Lauren Cisco tacked on 11 each.

Lehman Catholic 49, Ridgemont 48: Carly Edwards tallied 17 points in the LC victory.

Girls Bowling

Ben Logan 2448, Urbana 2197: Erica Warne had a high game of 223 for a 390 series. Kaylee Nicholas tacked on a 389 and Kayla Snyder a 334.

Mechanicsburg 2100, West Liberty-Salem 1804: Katie Rollins led WLS with games of 168 and 170 for a 338 series. Ashlyn Parks tacked on a 317 series.
