HS Roundup 2/2: Broermann sets Badin all-time scoring record

Senior center Emma Broermann became Badin’s all-time leading scorer in a 57-40 road win versus Purcell Marian in girls basketball action on Saturday.

The University of North Florida basketball commit scored 27 points to push her total to 1,230, passing Kim Kraft Richter’s mark of 1,228 set in 1990.

Shelby Nusbaum added 16 points with 12 rebounds and Badin moved to 13-6.

Alter 77, Bethel-Tate 28: Rich Kolb tallied 17 points, Brady Uhl added 12 and Connor Bazelak 11 for Alter.

Botkins 47, New Bremen 46: Spencer Heuker finished with 13 points for Botkins. Nolan Bornhorst led New Bremen with 16 points.

Catholic Central 65, Triad 34: Mykah Eichie totaled 19 points and Trey Dunn and Jayden Borded tacked on 13 apiece for Catholic Central. Dillon Nott led Triad at 10 points.

Centerville 71, Northland 41: Mo Njie tallied 22 points, Matt Pearce added 16 and Centerville won its ninth game in a row.

Coldwater 81, Upper Scioto Valley 74: Marcus Bruns finished with 26 points, Cole Frilling 19 and Noah Miller 15 for Coldwater.

Franklin 53, Edgewood 35: Will Emrick paced Franklin with 16 points. Isaiah Gambrell had 13 points for Edgewood.

Legacy Christian 62, Southeastern 52: Fred Shropshire led the way for Legacy with 21 points and Adonis Davis passed the 1,000 career point mark, finishing with 12 on the night.

Madison 81, Middletown Christian 39: Ryan Duritsch netted 18 points, Grant Whisman 15 and Turner Campbell 11 for Madison. C.J. Money led Middletown Christian with 11 points.

Marion Local 41, Fort Loramie 26: Nick Tangeman recorded 11 points and Marion Local jumped out to an early lead in the inaugural Impact Trophy game.

Minster 49, Jackson Center 47: Jarod Schulze scored 17 points and Jack Heitbrink tacked on 13 for Minster.

National Trail 67, Eaton 58: Cameron Harrison led four players in double-digit scoring for Trail with 25 points. Hunter Michael added 14 and Travis Hunt 12.

Russia 53, Ansonia 40: Jordan York led the way for Russia with 25 points. Hunter Muir had 17 points to lead Ansonia.

Sidney 54, St. Marys 36: Trey Werntz hit four three-point baskets and finished with 16 points to lead Sidney. Andre Gordon added 12 and Ratez Roberts 10.

Springboro 78, Lakota West 74: William Yates scored nine of his 21 points in the final quarter to spur a Springboro rally. Michael Berner added 17 points and Garett Powell 14.

Springfield Shawnee 59, Oakwood 58: Drew Mitch and Isaac Siemon scored 16 points apiece for Shawnee. Darren Rubin poured in 30 points in a losing effort for Oakwood.

St. Henry 75, Celina 69: Zach Niekamp had 17 points and Caden Niekamp chipped in 16 for St. Henry.

Tecumseh 69, Piqua 67: Easton Lewis poured in 32 points and Tecumseh held off a furious Piqua rally. Micah Karn totaled 21 points for Piqua.

Alter 32, Fenwick 27: Alter recovered from a slow start to finish off Fenwick and snap a two-game skid.

Bellbrook 46, Monroe 34: Bailey Zerby tallied 21 points and Maren Freudenchuss added 10 for Bellbrook. Sophie Sloneker paced Monroe with 12 points.

Bradford 65, Lehman Catholic 47: Austy Miller scored 23 points and Bradford closed the game on a 24-4 run. Grace Monnin tallied 12 points to lead Lehman Catholic.

Carroll 48, Chaminade Julienne 32: Megan Leraas scored 13 points, Sarah Ochs added 11 and Julia Keller 10 to help Carroll improve to 18-1 and 9-0 in conference.

Catholic Central 42, Cedarville 40, OT: Abbigail Peterson put up 26 points to lead Catholic Central.

Centerville 47, Fairmont 46: Amy Velasco buried a three-pointer with two seconds to play to give Centerville the win after the Elks trailed by 17.

Dayton Christian 47, Miami Valley 21: Shaina Caddy scored 12 points, Camryn Collinsworth and Alena Seaquist added 10 apiece and Dayton Christian opened the game on a 10-0 run.

Edgewood 54, Talawanda 38: Amber Moore drilled six three-pointers to lead Edgewood with 18 points and Callie Hunt added 11. Kyra Koontz recorded 12 points for Talawanda.

Fort Loramie 59, Anna 19: Kennedi Gephart and Taylor Ratermann finished with 13 points apiece for Fort Loramie.

Kenton Ridge 58, Springfield Shawnee 34: Mikala Morris poured in 40 points for Kenton Ridge and Mariah Baker added 10. Paree Furness led Shawnee with 13 points.

Madison 41, Tri-County North 19: Tara Price recorded 12 points for Madison, which put the game out of reach after a 12-0 run in the third quarter.

Mechanicsburg 47, Triad 18: Elly Schipfer totaled 15 points with 20 rebounds and six steals to pace ‘Burg.

Milton-Union 51, Dixie 21: Kristen Dickison had 15 points, Rachel Thompson 12 and Olivia Brown 11 to lead Milton-Union. Mckinlee Ruppert led Dixie with 10 points.

North Union 36, Northwestern 35: Journey Blevins paced North Union with 16 points. Abbie Grieser tallied 11 points for Northwestern.

Urbana 51, Indian Lake 39: Shelby Stoops and Kacie Martin led Urbana with 10 points apiece, with Stoops also hauling in 15 rebounds.

Valley View 83, Brookville 41: Chloe Smith scored 18 points to lead five players in double-digit scoring for Valley View. Abigail Dickson added 15 and Aubrey Stupp and Lauren Legate 12.

Wayne 67, Springfield 36: Bree Hall had 20 points and Nyla Hampton 13 to help Wayne pull away in the second half. Mickayla Perdue paced Springfield with 15 points.

Waynesville 34, Portsmouth Notre Dame 27: Carli Brown chipped in 10 points and unbeaten Waynesville recovered from a slow start to improve to 18-0.

Wrestling

OHSAA State Team Tournament: Ross and Graham both advanced to the state tournament in Division II and Versailles advanced in Division III.

Gymnastics

Anderson Win the Day Invitational: Molly Witzerman placed third on vault, sixth on floor and bars and seventh in the all around to help Miamisburg finish in third overall. Centerville placed fifth.
