HS Results 12/21: Triad girls snap three game losing streak

The Triad girls basketball team snapped a three game losing streak, besting OHC rivals Northeastern 73-65.

Alea Ferguson rallied hard, shooting for 22 points and adding on eight rebounds, six steals and six assists in the win.

Audrey Lightle had her best game in nearly two years, scoring 16 points and six rebounds, while Makenzie Cauley tacked on 11 rebounds and seven points.

Triad had 22 steals and 20 assists overall.

Northeastern was led by Hayley Suchland who put up 34 points.

Triad will play Bethel on Saturday, December 30 after returning from the holiday break.

Boys Basketball

Badin 61, Dayton Christian 49, 2OT: A 12-0 run in the second OT period won the game for Badin. Jakob Tipton tallied 15 of Badin’s 61 to lead the team to victory. Matt Welker netted 19 in the DC loss.

Girls Basketball

Arcanum 50, Tri County North 43: Gracie Garno netted 17 points in the Arcanum win, while Aubrey Stupp tallied 18 in the loss.

Catholic Central 62, Madison Plains 19: Abbigail Peterson put up 22 points in the CC win.

Bath 46, Coldwater 42: Bath remained undefeated on the season after besting Coldwater. Lauren Gilliland led Coldwater with 13 points and eight rebounds in the loss, while Kourtney Diller tacked on nine points.

Covington 66, Mississinawa Valley 40: Samantha Whiteman shot for 20 points for Covington in their win. MV was led by Bailey Johnson with 10 points.

Greenon 64, Southeastern 42: Reagan Ware put up 24 points in the win.

Legacy Christian 48, Clinton-Massie 32: Emily Riddle tallied 26 points for Legacy Christian.

Meadowdale 46, Riverview East 33: Meadowdale had 18 steals as a team in their third consecutive win. Ilea Bradfield netted 13 points in the win, while Saniya Gunn led all scorers with 21 points for RE.

Mechanicsburg 60, Fairbanks 33: Kasey Schipfer scored a game-high 22 points and equaled her school and single-game record of 13 steals for the double double. Schipfer added on six assists and five rebounds. Emily Wilson had 16 points in the loss.

Miami East 48, Franklin Monroe 32: Morgan Haney shot for three from the three point line to put up 22 points in the win. Audrey Cable led Franklin Monroe with nine points.

Milton Union 38, Greenville 30: Kristen Dickison earned 15 points, eight steals and four rebounds in the win. Beyonce Bobbitt tacked on nine points, six rebounds, four steals and two assists. Morgan Gilbert had eight points for Greenville.

National Trail 54, Bradford 51: Bradford’s 20 point final quarter wasn’t quite enough to give the Railroaders the W. Chelsea Gill tallied 22 points in the loss.

New Bremen 55, Upper Scioto Valley 32: Paige Jones and Jane Homan co-led NB with 10 points each. Kaycee Carroll shot for 14 in the loss.

Newton 66, Bethel 44: Tatum McBride put up 19 points in the 22 point victory over Bethel.

Russia 45, Botkins 32: Laurissa Poling netted 20 points in the Russia victory. Sarah Bergman’s 12 points fell short in the loss.

Stivers 42, Twin Valley South 34: Maya Randolph and Mylan Crews both tallied 15 points to lead their teams on the night, just on different sides of the court. Randolph’s 15 aided the Stivers victory, while Crews’ fell just short.

St. Marys 59, Sidney 37: Lauren Cisko led with 14 points to earn the win for St. Marys. Teammate McKenna Mele tacked on 13. Cary Dean put up 11 points for Sidney.

Triad 73, Northeastern 65: Hayley Suchland’s 34 points to lead all scorers weren’t quite enough to push Northeastern over Triad to victory. Alea Ferguson tallied 22 for Triad in the win.

Tri-Village 79, Ansonia 33: Emma Printz tallied 16 points in the TV win. Katie Werts put up 11 for Ansonia.

Valley View 47, Carroll 42: Hunter Stidham shot for three from the three point line to put up 16 points in the VV victory. Allie Stefanek sunk one 3-pointer and earned 17 points overall for Carroll.

West Liberty-Salem 55, Jefferson 16: Gabby Hollar led with 12 points on the night, while Kelsey Day tacked on 10 in the win.

Boys Bowling

Indian Lake 2075, West Liberty-Salem 2040: Gavin Amspaugh rolled a 191 to lead IL in the victory. Brothers Daniel and Wyatt Long tacked on a 164 and a 156 game respectively. Isaac Riblet rolled a 199 for WLS.

Girls Bowling

West Liberty-Salem 1705, Indian Lake 1322: Hailee Clifford continued to lead WLS, bowling a 160 and 130 for a 290 series on the night. Rachel Larson tacked on a 273 series.
