Mack had been playing the X (split end) position. That will be filled by Binjimin Victor and Terry McLaurin with Olave picking up playing time in the six-man rotation.
Parris Campbell, who normally plays in the slot, could also see some time outside.
Meyer also said he’s been impressed with redshirt freshman offensive guard Wyatt Davis, who could force his way onto the field with the line having struggled in recent games.
“Wyatt’s close,” Meyer said Wednesday night. “He’s the next in and Josh Myers.”
Myers is a redshirt freshman from Miamisburg. He and Davis were both highly regarded members of Ohio State’s 2017 recruiting class.
Branden Bowen, a starter last season at guard before suffering a broken leg, and Brady Taylor, a senior who was in line to start at center before hurting his knee in the preseason, are still working back to full strength and not ready to play yet.
