Mayfield’s performance against Bengals earns NFL honor

Rookie quarterback named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week (games played Dec. 22-25), the NFL announced today.

Mayfield passed for 284 yards and three touchdowns on 27 of 37 passes (121.9 passer rating) in the Browns’ 26-18 win over the Bengals on Sunday. It marked Cleveland’s first season sweep of Cincinnati since 2002.

His 24 touchdown passes this season rank him third all-time for an NFL rookie.

Mayfield, the No. 1 pick in the 2018 draft, has been voted NFL Rookie of the Week five times.
