Lebanon to name new athletic director

The Lebanon Board of Education on Wednesday is expected to replace longtime Athletic Director Bill Stewart.

Keith Pantling, who had been athletic director for the Little Miami Schools for two years, is to be hired in a special board meeting.

Stewart was recently hired by the Hamilton school district in Butler County.

Pantling has also worked as an assistant on football Coach Butch Jones’ staff at the University of Cincinnati and went with Jones to the University of Tennessee.

“I’m eager to engage and energize the students and community and help propel Lebanon’s upward trajectory as we head to the Eastern Cincinnati Conference,” Pantling said in a district release.

He also served as athletic director at LaSalle High School.

“I want to thank the selection committee for their hard work and commitment in finding a quality athletic director,” Superintendent Todd Yohey said in the announcement.

The school district will arrange an open house to meet with coaches, parents, and student athletes at a later date. Pantling his wife and two sons, plan on relocating to Lebanon.

Stewart, a Butler County native, was Lebanon’s athletic director for more than nine years. Before coming to Lebanon, he worked as teacher, administrator and coach in the Fairfield school district.

He will also be an assistant principal in Hamilton.
