Prep Spotlight: Ana Richter, Talawanda High School

Name: Ana Elizabeth Richter

School: Talawanda High School

Sport: Volleyball and basketball

Class: Senior

Age: 17

Claim to fame: Probably sports, and being an athlete.

Bet you didn't know: I was born in South Carolina.

Toughest opponent/why: In basketball, it is Mt. Healthy. But otherwise, it is myself, because a lot of times, people have a lot of high expectations so I get caught up in that instead of my team.

Favorite book: Christy Miller series.

Favorite movie: Despicable Me.

Favorite TV show: I don't really watch TV, but if I had to pick, it would be The Voice.

Favorite song: "Best Love Song" by T-Pain.

Favorite pro athlete/why: Tamika Catchings, plays for WNBA, because she has a lot of passion and had a hard past that she had to overcome.

Favorite smell: Food.

Favorite home cooked meal: Chicken and dumplings.

Game-day rituals: I always braid some of the girls' hair. As a team, we always pray before a game.

Person who would play me in a movie/why? Sandra Bullock because I like her as an actor.

Words I live by: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," which is a bible verse. It's one of our team mottos because it means you can overcome any obstacle as long as you have Christ on your side.

Biggest influence/why? My dad, because he really inspires me. He and my mom went to college to play basketball. I have always really looked up to him.

I am most annoyed by: People who judge other people without knowing them.

I can't live without: Sports, friends, and family.

Most embarrassing moment: One time in basketball, I said I would be the speaking captain, and the ref asked me for my number and I completely forgot.

In 10 years I'll be: Hopefully out of college, in a relationship, and with a job.

Best thing about basketball: It would be gaining a relationship with your team. I think it is so cool, and basketball is such a hard sport, so you are with your team all of the time, so you have to build relationships and become best friends with them.

Worst thing about basketball: Team drama, because you always have to have team chemistry to be successful, and having to get over coaches and drama.

Vegetable I just won't eat: Brussels sprouts.

Favorite junk food: Puppy Chow.

Favorite school subject: Math. I always feel like such a nerd when I say that, but I am really good at it.

Last movie I watched: Pitch Perfect.

Person whose brain I'd like to pick: Lebron James, because I really don't understand him.

When I'm bored I like to: Go boating, get on my phone, or write letters to people.

Worst habit: Biting my nails.

On my bedroom walls: There is a Miami poster, a North Carolina banner, and pictures of family and friends.

Talent I would most like to have: Singing.
