With the 2018-19 college basketball season less than two months away, more preseason predictions are coming out.
The Lindy’s Sports College Basketball Preview hit newsstands this week. The annual magazine picked the Dayton Flyers to finish ninth in the 14-team Atlantic 10 Conference. That’s where it finished last year with an 8-10 league mark.
» PREDICTIONS ROUNDUP: Saint Louis favored by most
This was the magazine’s take on Dayton: “With four returning starters, there is proven A-10 talent, but interior issues lower ceiling.”
Lindy’s named Dayton redshirt senior forward Josh Cunningham to its all-conference second team.

Here’s how Lindy’s predicted the A-10: 1: Saint Louis; 2. George Mason; 3. St. Joseph’s; 4. Davidson; 5. St. Bonaventure; 6. Massachusetts; 7. Richmond; 8. Virginia Commonwealth; 9. Dayton; 10. Duquesne; 11. Rhode Island; 12. George Washington; 13. La Salle; and 14. Fordham.
Where did other local teams land in the magazine’s predictions?
Wright State: First in Horizon League.
Miami: Fourth in Mid-American Conference East Division.
Ohio State: Sixth in the Big Ten.
Xavier: Second in the Big East.
Cincinnati: First in the American Athletic Conference.
