Remember when the state of Ohio was on top of the college basketball world last season?

That week was pretty magical!

The 2018 season didn’t really turn out great with Ohio State, Xavier and Cincinnati all losing in the second round of the NCAA tournament after Wright State was routed in the round of 64, but it was fun while it lasted!

And we have it on good authority all those programs plan to field teams again this fall, so which one has the best shot at cutting down the nets in March?

The oddsmakers at Bovada are going with Cincinnati, but none are what could be described as anything close to a favorite after all three suffered significant personnel losses.

The Bearcats are getting 75/1 odds currently, worse than the beginning of the month (65/1) and the beginning of the offseason (60/1).

Next up is Ohio State at 80/1 with Xavier getting odds of 99/1.

(The Buckeyes and Bearcats will open the season against each other in the Queen City.)

All of them have seen their odds grow longer since the day after Villanova claimed the 2018 title.

The defending champion Wildcats are fourth right now at 17/2.

The best odds belong to Kentucky (6/1) followed by Duke (13/2) and Kansas (8/1).

What about Dayton and Wright State?

They aren’t getting any odds right now.
