Cincinnati Reds reassign five players to minor league camp

The Reds today reassigned four pitchers, including left-hander Brandon Finnegan, to minor league camp.

Finnegan was acquired from the Royals in the Johnny Cueto trade in 2015. The next season Finnegan made 31 starts, going 10-11 with a 3.98 ERA.

He missed most of the 2017 season with a shoulder injury. Finnegan struggled last season. At Triple-A Louisville, going 2-10 with an 8.65 ERA in 28 games (nine starts). He was 0-3 with a 7.40 ERA in five starts for the Reds.

The Reds also reassigned pitchers Jesus Reyes, Buddy Boshers and Vladimir Gutierrez and infielder Christian Colon.
