As the Bengals prepare to open the season by hosting the Ravens on Sunday, here are notes from Monday’s practice:

  • Receiver John Ross was sidelined, as expected. He was injured in the last exhibition game. Ross is almost guaranteed to miss game against the Ravens and Texans, but the gap between the Thursday night Houston matchup and week 3 against Packers may allow him enough time to be ready.
  • Quarterback Jeff Driskel was placed on injured reserve. He broke his thumb in the preseason finale.
  • Tight end Tyler Eifert practiced. He's been dealing with knee tendinitis, though it's considered minor. It kept him out of the last two exhibition games, though he'd have only played in the third one anyway.
  • Safety Shawn Williams rehabbed on the field for the first time.
