Another person in the pickup truck was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Tanner said a preliminary investigation indicates the pickup truck was traveling south on Jacksonburg Road when it failed to stop for a stop sign and was hit by a large dump truck that was traveling westbound on Ohio 73.
A car that was eastbound on Ohio 73 also was struck by the dump truck and landed upside down in a ditch.
The drivers of the dump truck and the car were taken by ambulances to a local hospital.
The names and conditions of those injured in the crash were not released.
Ohio 73 between Cotton Run Road and Wehr Road was to be closed for several hours, according to dispatchers.
