Unseasonably cold week brings chance for snow

Unseasonably cold weather is expected through the work week, including some potential mid-April snow, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The cold weather today calls for highs in the mid-40s with mostly cloudy skies. Tonight, it will be partly cloudy in the evening then clearing with widespread frost after midnight and lows in the upper 20s.

Wednesday starts with widespread frost and partly cloudy skies, which turn mostly cloudy. Wednesday afternoon’s forecast calls for the chance of rain showers with highs in the upper 40s.

Wednesday night brings a chance of rain showers with the slight chance of snow showers, especially after midnight. Widespread frost also is expected after midnight with lows in the upper 20s.

Expect widespread frost Thursday morning, thenpartly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 40s later.
