West Chester police responding to a man with a knife off Allen Road

West Chester Twp. police say the emergency on Allen Road is over.

Officials said after about two hours of speaking with the male in his 30s, he put down the knife and surrendered to police. He is being taken for to receive mental health care assistance.

Earlier today officials were urging residents at the Savoy to stay inside while they deal with an alleged suicidal man in a field off Allen Road.
