A Butler County-based venture formed by two larger companies is getting federal dollars.

CFM International Inc., of West Chester Twp., won a $1.8 million federal contract from the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command for engines, turbines and components, according to a government release.

CFM is a 50/50 joint venture between GE Aviation, which a subsidiary of General Electric, and Safran, a French multinational aircraft engine, rocket engine, aerospace-component, defense, and security company.
