FIRST REPORT: Boil advisory issued in Hamilton

Bacteria testing has been completed and the affected areas — Hayes Avenue from River Road to Arlington Avenue and Arlington Avenue from Hayes Avenue to Andover Avenue — are no longer under the advisory, said Joy Rodenburgh with the city’s Public Works Department.

“The water sampling conducted indicates the water supply is safe for human consumption,” she said, adding that city personnel were in the process of notifying those impacted.

Rodenburgh added that no determination has been made as to what caused the problems with water in the affected areas, but the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
