Video shows suspects trying to break Middletown gas station window, failing and running away

Two suspects were unable to break into a Middletown business Tuesday morning, according to police.

Police were called to the Marathon gas station, 1824 Oxford State Road, at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on an alarm for perimeter and glass breakage, a police report said. The double glass window pane on the west side of the building and the glass on the door were “spider webbed and shattered,” the report read.

But the thieves never entered the store, the report read.

The owner of the business showed police surveillance video of two male subjects, wearing dark clothing with their hoods up, hitting the glass either with a heavy item or throwing an item at the glass. When they were unable to gain access, they fled on foot. The video didn’t show the suspects getting into a vehicle.
