SentriLock moving to Butler County, looks to expand

At a ribbon cutting celebration Friday held at the new headquarters on Service Center Drive, SentriLock Founder and Chief Executive Officer Scott Fisher said the company was started 10 years ago with six employees. It has since grown to $5 million in payroll, with more than 600,000 lockboxes in use in the U.S., Canada, Caribbean and Europe.

SentriLock is opening in a building formerly occupied by Air-Tite Home Products, which closed in 2012, according to the township.

One of the main attractions of the new West Chester Twp. location was the visibility along Interstate 75, company officials said.

Also, “this is a new fresh area. West Chester is a growing area, a lot of retail around here,” Richardson said.

SentriLock is a for-profit subsidiary owned by National Association of Realtors.

National Association of Realtors is a nonprofit trade group with main offices in Chicago, Ill. The realtors group bought in November 2012 the West Chester Twp. building, 7701 Service Center Drive, for $3.6 million, according to property records on the Butler County Auditor’s Office website.

The building is a total 96,000-square-feet. Of that, SentriLock is occupying approximately 40,000-square-feet, double the space it leased before, Richardson said. The rest of the building is for lease.

“We’ve outgrown our space there with our projected growth that we think we’re going to achieve over the next three to five years. We really needed a larger facility,” Richardson said.

SentriLock is looking to expand in more markets globally. In Europe, the product has a different use for the in-home health care industry to track when doctors and nurses come to a patient’s house.

“It’s one of the most secure lockboxes in the industry,” he said. “It’s also one of the most technologically advanced from the features and functionalities of reporting, the different customizations that we can do for the lockbox, the access reporting.”

For example, SentriLock feeds foot traffic reports to National Association of Realtors to help their economists with housing market projections.
