Here's a final look at Hara Arena in Trotwood from yesterday evening, Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020. Demolition of the Hara complex buildings will start today, Sept. 25. Closed in 2016, the property experienced extensive damage from the 2019 Dayton area Memorial Day tornadoes. Michael Heitz, a Lexington, Ky. based developer, purchased Hara and its land in 2018. Demolition plans are in place for Hara Arena, a longtime event destination for generations of people in southwest Ohio.

The arena, which initially was ballroom in 1956 northwest of Dayton, held 5,500 seats and included the main arena, four exhibition halls, a conference center, pub and golf course.
