A person believed to be living in the garage is dead, officials said.
Middletown Fire Deputy Chief Brian Wright said the structure was “fully involved” when firefighters arrived. One person was able to escape.
A neighboring house sustained exposure damage, Wright said.
The fire is under investigation.
