28 people were indicted in Butler and Warren counties

Grand juries, which meet in secret, review criminal charges brought by police and prosecutors and investigate possible criminal behavior. The proceedings are usually one-sided, because the accused is not present and witnesses are not cross-examined.

A grand jury may issue an indictment if it finds probable cause that a crime was committed and the accused person is responsible. An indictment is an accusation that must then be proven in court. The grand jury may also elect to issue no indictment.

BUTLER COUNTY

Indictments returned during a recent session of the Butler County grand jury:

Rondaz R. Mays-Richardson, 7400 Hickman St., Cincinnati; indicted on one count of trafficking in marijuana.

Willie Boyd Parnell, 3807 Mack Road, Apt. 63, Fairfield; indicted on three counts of aggravated possession of drugs (direct), and two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs.

Shannon A. Ivy, 217 Hudson Ave., Hamilton; indicted on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, and one count of aggravated possession of drugs (direct).

Daniel Johnson, 701 Elwood St., Middletown; indicted on one count each of aggravated possession of drugs and resisting arrest.

Douglas Schaney, 3417 Oxford Reily Road, Oxford; indicted on two counts of illegal use or possession of drugs paraphernalia, and one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, possessing drug abuse instruments, and driving under suspension.

Megan Jeane Carr, 3218 Beatrice Drive, Middletown; indicted on one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle.

Andrew S. Proctor, 4103 Hussy Road, Hamilton; indicted on one count each of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, aggravated possession of drugs, and aggravated possession of drugs (direct).

Justin Andrew Burridge, 230 East St., Trenton; indicted on one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of a Fentanyl-related compound, and possessing drug abuse instruments.

Glenn J. Harris Jr., 4518 Winton Road, Apt. 8, Cincinnati; indicted on one count each of receiving stolen property and misuse of credit cards.

Tyler Allen Combs, 133 Twilight Drive, Fairfield; indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs.

Samantha J. McDonald, 92 Lakeside Drive, Hamilton; indicted on one count each of tampering with evidence, aggravated possession of drugs, obstructing official business, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

Teri Freeman, 10332 Short Road, Harrison; indicted on one count each of possession of a Fentanyl-related compound, and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jody M. Renner, 423 East Ave., Hamilton; indicted on one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shelly A. Wilson, 1147 NW Washington Blvd., Apt. 8c, Hamilton; indicted on one count each of possession of a Fentanyl-related compound, and possession of drugs.

Anthony D. Pankey, 218 South E St., Apt. D, Hamilton; indicted on one count each of possession of a Fentanyl-related compound, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.

Isaac Frazier, 2960 Wilbraham, Apt. F, Middletown; certified back to the lower court on one count of possession of marijuana.

Tyray Stokes, 507 S. Front St., #1, Hamilton; indicted on two counts each of disrupting public services and assault (direct), and one count each of aggravated burglary, domestic violence, and criminal damaging or endangering.

Derris D. Waller, 220 Evergreen Ave., Newport, Ky.; certified back to the lower court on one count of possession of marijuana.

Charles M. Polston, 67 Thornhill Drive, Hamilton; certified back to the lower court on one count of possession of marijuana, and indicted on one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Andrew Spampinato, 900 Franklin Road, Lebanon; indicted on one count each of grand theft, breaking and entering, and theft.

Courtney L. Basinger, 204 Garfield St., Middletown; indicted on one count each of counterfeiting, theft, and aggravated possession of drugs.

Dareus R. Haskins, LORCI; indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs (direct).
