Pedestrian struck by semi on I-71 in suicide attempt

A preliminary investigation of a pedestrian verses Mack truck this morning indicates the act was intentional on the part of the pedestrian, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred about 8:45 a.m.when a 26-year-old Amelia woman was struck on Interstate 71 near the Fields Ertel Road exit by a truck driven by Larry Bridges Jr., 36, of Wyoming, Mich.

A preliminary investigation indicates the woman intentionally walked in front of the truck, troopers said. She was transported to Bethesda North Hospital, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries

Bridges was transported to Arrow Springs Hospital for treatment for non-lifethreatening issues.

The incident remains under investigation.
