The mailbox is full

I was coming by the Hamilton post office and there was mail sticking out of the mailbox there. I parked my car and went in. I told the worker that there was mail sticking out the mailbox and people were going to get it. Wouldn't it be better to go out there, get that mail out and let the people stand in line and wait just a few minutes, instead of losing all that mail? This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. ...

I get so sick and tired of hearing Democrats and Republicans argue over who should pay taxes, who shouldn't pay taxes, whatever. Why don't we get rid of federal taxes altogether on your paycheck and have a national sales tax? That way you don't pay any federal taxes but, when you go to spend your money, that's when they get their tax money. That way everybody has skin in the game. Even if you are getting paid under the table, you would still pay federal taxes. ...

To the Community Voice caller who wants Republicans to burn their Medicare cards and Social Security checks, things that we worked for: I will gladly do it if the Democrats will burn their Medicaid cards and all the welfare checks that they receive.

I've seen former first lady Barbara Bush on TV with her statement about Sarah Palin, saying she should stay in Alaska. Sarah Palin is an airhead. ... She couldn't finish her job in Alaska and certainly is not qualified for the presidency. Listen to her. She doesn't say anything.

I find it appalling that our children cannot go to Tri-County Mall after 4 p.m. on the weekends. I was at Tri-County Mall recently. I saw guards walk into the stores and tell children who were shopping that they needed to leave because they did not have a parent with them. These kids were doing nothing except Christmas shopping. Then, I saw all the guards lined up at the doors, turning people away — young kids — as they tried to enter because they did not have a parent with them. ... Take your business to Bridgewater Falls where our children appear to be welcome.

To the Butler County commissioners: This is the second time that you've discussed this sales tax increase. Strange that you did it after the Nov. 2 election. If you believe county residents wanted this, why didn't you do it before?
