New Burger King to hire up to 60

Construction started last week on a new Burger King at 525 Kolb Drive in Fairfield.

The project, which sits near just northwest of Forest Fair Village, is the work of Atlanta-based GPS Hospitality Partners and replaces a former steakhouse.

The new Burger King will be approximately 3,200 square feet and hire up to 60 people for a projected May opening, according to Lisa Grier, spokeswoman for GPS.

“We see great opportunity for growth throughout Ohio,” Grier said. “Building from the ground-up in Fairfield provides us with the perfect opportunity to really show the local Butler County community our company’s core values of being goal-focused, people-oriented and dedicated to providing excellent guest service.”

GPS Hospitality owns and operates 222 restaurants in nine states: Ohio, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Grier said.

Among the 26 restaurants it owns and operates in Ohio are locations on Pleasant Avenue in Fairfield, Muhlhauser Road in West Chester Twp., North Liberty Drive in Liberty Twp. and Hamilton-Lebanon Road in Monroe.

In 2015, GPS remodeled five locations in Ohio and two in Northern Kentucky, Grier said. Plans are in the works to remodel four more locations this year, she said.
