Plans to build the new state-of-the-art facility were first announced in March 2014. It's expected to bring more than 150 new skilled jobs to the area to supply Honda Motor Co. with acoustic insulation, carpet and underfloor technologies, according to the Illinois-based company.
"This would be the plant we would expand when future business is awarded, so it's our intention to grow this facility," UGN Chief Executive Officer Peter Anthony told this reporter during a May interview.
There’s room on-site for the factory to add another 150,000-square-feet in the future as UGN expands to supply Toyota and Subaru, according to the company.
Anthony, Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor, as well as representatives from Honda, JobsOhio and REDI Cincinnati are expected to attend the ceremonial events.
