The minivan was slowing as it was overheating, but remained in the right lane. Boutvas’ motorcycle brakes locked up and he began to lay his motorcycle down as it crashed into the rear of the minivan, according to the patrol.
Boutvas was taken to Atrium Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
The patrol reported Boutvas was cited for assured clear distance and failure to wear a helmet.
