Frost told Middletown police that she and her husband, Andrew Frost, 39, of Miamisburg, were arguing in his trailer when she jumped out.
While interviewing Andrew Frost, 39, Middletown police smelled alcohol on his breath. He had bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet, according to a police report.
He told police he had two drinks — a mixed drink and a beer — around 10 p.m. Thursday, four hours before the incident. He was transported to the Middletown City Jail, where he refused to perform a field sobriety test and a breath test. He was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, his first offense in six years.
His arraignment Friday in Middletown Municipal Court was continued until 9 a.m. March 11 to allow him to hire an attorney, according to court records.
Andrew Frost told police that he and his wife picked up his semi-tractor on Hook Drive in Middletown. Once in the semi, they began arguing because she found “something” on his cell phone a few days ago and became upset, the report said.
Several times while driving through Middletown, Angela Frost threatened to jump out of the truck, her husband told police.
As they were nearing the intersection of South Verity Parkway and Yankee Road, she jumped out of the vehicle, he told police. The trailer he was hauling struck his wife, he said. He also nearly struck a pole on Yankee Road.
When he looked in his rear-view mirror, he saw his wife lying on the road.
In the 911 tape that was obtained by this new outlet, Angela Frost told the dispatcher she was pushed out of the semi, then later changed her story and said she opened the door.
At one point, Andrew Frost became frustrated with the 911 dispatcher because she couldn’t understand him: “My wife is ready to die.”
When the dispatcher asked Angela Frost what happened, she said: “I got run over by a semi. I’m bleeding.”
Later she added: “Hurry my legs are hurting and I’m getting dizzy. Hurry.”
Her husband screamed, “You are dying!”
His wife responded: “I’m not dying.”
Middletown paramedics transported Angela Frost to a field at Yankee Road and Curtis Street, where she was then taken by medical helicopter to Miami Valley.
