Warm and sunny; Air Quality Advisory for Butler, Warren counties

There is an Air Quality Advisory in effect for Butler and Warren counties until midnight tonight, issued by the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency.

The agency said it expects to see ozone levels that will be unhealthy for sensitive groups like children, the elderly and people with respiratory diseases. It asked residents to take a few actions to help reduce ozone formation, including:

Taking the bus, carpooling, biking or walking instead of driving
Refueling your vehicle after 8 p.m., avoiding topping off the tank and tightening the gas cap
Avoiding idling your vehicle
Avoiding using gas-powered law equipment

Today, it will be sunny and warm, with a high near 88 degrees, leading to a mostly clear night with temperatures dipping to around 65 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Tomorrow, we will still see sunny skies, but it will be a little hotter with high temperatures rising to around 93 degrees. As we go into the afternoon and evening we will start to see more clouds, especially after dark as temperatures fall to around 72 degrees.

We will also start to see some chances of rain and storms in the early hours of Thursday morning, which will continue to build once the sun comes up. By 8 a.m., the NWS predicts a 50 percent chance of showers and storms, rising a little higher to make rain and storms likely around noon and the early afternoon.

Our chances of rain will fall some as we go into the evening, but we will still retain a chance of rain through Thursday night. Low temperatures will fall to around 71 degrees.
