The coronavirus and the state’s Stay at Home order have created restrictions during this Easter season and cutting into many traditional activities. However, some local communities are being creative as they preserve some seasonal activities.

Here is a round-up of some of the activities in the area:

MIDDLETOWN

Downtown Middletown Inc. has started a “social distancing friendly” Easter egg hunt.

Residents and families can cruise around downtown Middletown to find the 25 hidden Easter egg cut outs in business windows and facades. All eggs can be spotted from the safety of your own car, according to DMI.

DMI said Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop is offering three really sweet prizes for families that complete all 25 and post a selfie photo downtown on the Downtown Middletown Inc. Facebook page.

CARLISLE

An in-car Easter Egg hunt is planned for noon Saturday starting at the former Pizza Hotline parking lot, 767 Central Ave.

Franklin Twp. Trustee Brian Morris, Craig Harris from Valley Real Estate, and Eric Clarkson from Church in the Village are putting on the event to give the kids a safe and festive activity to do in Carlisle School district area. Morris said he and his wife have hand-painted 40 signs for the event that will be online-based with no contact with anyone.

FAIRFIELD

The Fairfield Family YMCA is hosting an Easter Bunny sighting Sunday. The Easter Bunny will be waving to families from 1 to 2:30 p.m. along Bibury Road. All families are asked to remain in their vehicles to practice safe social distancing.

WEST CHESTER

Learning Through Play Inc. has teamed up with West Chester businesses to organize an Easter egg hunt from your car for the community.

Eggs can be found in windows or on doors of local businesses.
