Skyline Chili 70th anniversary contest offers holiday sweaters

Now HERE’S a sweater that will prompt a response at your family’s holiday gathering.

Skyline Chili is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year with a "Limited Edition Holiday Sweater Contest." Up for grabs is a line of clothing that is, at the very least, attention-grabbing.

The contest, which started this week and runs through Oct. 10, offers Skyline enthusiasts (and those who collect colorful holiday sweaters) the chance to win “limited-edition” sweaters, t-shirts, gift cards and many other prizes, Skyline officials said in a release. Three are more than 10 Skyline Chili locations with the lion’s share in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. Skyline Chili operates 14 restaurants in the Dayton area.

A grand-prize package includes the 2019 Skyline Chili sweater, a Skyline t-shirt, a 70th anniversary Skyline “Way Plate” and a $100 gift card. Another 25 fans will win the sweater and plate and a $50 gift card, and 70 second prizes will be awarded that will include a t-shirt, plate and a $25 gift card. And 150 $10 Skyline gift cards will be awarded.

The release of the annual holiday Skyline Chili sweater “has quickly become a highly anticipated tradition,” Skyline officials said in a release. “Last year, thousands of fans across the country entered the online contest to win a sweater for their wardrobe. Thanks to the fervent response to the release on social media, the 2018 edition also sold out quickly on Skyline’s digital (merchandise) store.”

Sarah Sicking, marketing director for Skyline Chili, said in a release, “Our sweater giveaway last year created a wave of excitement, and this year’s prizes are even better. We hope that all of our winners use their new swag to show off their love for Skyline and help us to recognize our 70th birthday.”

Founded in Cincinnati in 1949, Skyline Chili operates 135 restaurants in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Florida. The restaurants are known for their cheese coneys, “3-Way” dishes with pasta noodles and chili, and its table service.
