Police: Fight leads to shooting at Traders World Flea Market

A fight between two customers at Traders World Flea Market “devolved into a shooting,” with one person injured and one person of interest in custody, police said.

Multiple police departments responded to the large market area and traffic was stopped at Traders World’s main entrance at 601 Union Road and Ohio 63 in Turtlecreek Twp. during the incident

The first reports of the shooting occurred at approximately 1:58 p.m.

Monroe Police Chief Bob Buchanan said officials didn’t believe there was a threat to the community and this was an isolated incident between two people.

Officers were checking customers as they left the main entrance for possible related evidence.

As of 3:30 p.m., police tape surrounded buildings Nos. 8 and 9 at Traders World.
