The business, employees, and surrounding neighborhood are safe, officers said.
In a 911 call obtained by this news outlet, a caller described a device that was at the East Third Street business.
“There’s a device at the U-Haul place, at 1340 East Third Street. Go look at it,” the caller stated in the call. “There’s a device there somewhere. Somebody was telling me about it. I don’t know where it’s at.”

When a dispatcher asked the caller what kind of device it was the caller responded “I think it’s one that goes boom,” according to the call.
Officers left the business around 12:15 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Multiple officers continue to investigate a report of a possible suspicious device at the U-Haul location on East Third Street in Dayton.
Fire crews were allowed to clear the scene, according to emergency scanner traffic.
Bomb squad investigators have not been requested to the business, according to dispatch records.

Police and fire crews have been dispatched to investigate a possible suspicious device at a U-Haul location on East Third Street in Dayton Wednesday, according to dispatch records.
Crews were dispatched to the location at 1340 East Third Street around 10:50 a.m. after a caller reported a possible device at the business, dispatch records show.
There have been no immediate reports of injuries or evacuations.
