Ohio University’s campus is open following a Thursday water main break.

The campus, along with the city of Athens, remains under a boil advisory.

FIRST REPORT 2/16/17

Ohio University’s campus in Athens is closed today following a water main break that has caused campus buildings to experience low water pressure or no water at all.

The university posted on it’s website that the city of Athens issued a boil order for the entire city, including all locations on campus until at least noon Friday.

Drinking water is being made available to students at the following distribution points:

  • All residence hall lobbies
  • Residential dining halls
  • Living Learning Center

The campus also has 75 Port-A-Johns on the way to the campus to serve those impacted by the water issues, the university said.  The portable restrooms will be place in residential areas on campus.

Evening classes and other evening activities have also been cancelled.
