New roundabout open in Butler County

The county’s newest roundabout has opened on the West Chester/Liberty Twp. line, according to the engineer’s office.

The roundabout at Hamilton Mason and LeSourdsville West Chester roads has opened — just before Lakota buses hit the road for the start of the new school year next week.

While the roundabout work is complete, off-road work will continue into September as crews install lighting and final landscaping, according to the engineer’s office.

The roundabout was expected to cost between $750,000 to $800,000, and the intersection had been closed since June 18.

Lakota students return to classes Thursday, Aug. 16.
