Roosevelt Robinson, the owner of Middletown Ford, said the expansion of the showroom is designed to have it face more toward the lot between Verity and Tytus Avenue. He acquired the dealership in November 1990 and opened it in December 1990 and employs 46 to 48 people.
“This is something that I have always wanted to do,” Robinson said. “It seemed like now was the right time to do it.”
According to the Middletown Building Inspection Division permit application, the estimated cost of the addition and renovation was listed at $980,000. JDL Warm Construction of Cincinnati is the contractor on the project.
Robinson said the project includes a 3,000 square-foot showroom expansion along with the renovation of the current showroom facing Tytus Avenue.
“It’s the new look I was looking for,” Robinson said. “The new windows will give it a totally new look.”
He said the project also includes remodelling the service department and expanding the customer lounge to include more seating, vending and coffee area and new restrooms.
“I think everyone will like it,” he said.
Robinson said the new showroom should be completed by the end of September or early October for the showroom and remaining portions of the project should be completed by late November or early December.
