Longtime Hamilton Chamber leader leaving for out-of-state job

Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Kenny Craig is leaving his post of 14 years to take an out-of-state job, Dave Lippert, the chamber’s chairman of the board, announced Thursday.

“He’s moved us forward, we’re a better chamber than we were before he came,” said Lippert, who was unable to reveal the new position Craig is taking.

“It takes him out of state,” Lippert said. “That’s all we can say at this point.”

The chamber has started talking about its search process for a new leader, he said.

“We have started talking about the search process — that’s as far as we’ve gotten at this point,” said Lippert, who is president of Hamilton Caster & Mfg. Co.

“We’re happy with Kenny, we wish him the best, and we’ll have some big shoes to fill here as quickly as we can,” he said.

Lippert also released the letter Craig wrote in announcing the move to chamber officials.

“I have truly enjoyed my 14 years at the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce,” Craig wrote. “Although I can look back and remember key accomplishments the Chamber has made during this time, it is really all about the people I’ve gotten the privilege to know and work with that has been the most satisfying.”

“Words alone cannot express my thanks to the many individuals that have given me their wisdom and friendship over these years,” Craig added. “The Chamber is in good hands from a board and staff perspective. In many ways, it’s a much stronger organization than it was 14 years ago and for that I’m also very thankful.”

“ It has been an honor to provide leadership while playing a small part in the Chamber’s continuing success. I wish the very best for the Chamber and the Greater Hamilton and Butler County community,” he wrote.
