A Butler County fast food restaurant has unexpectedly closed its doors.

The KFC at 2211 N. Verity Parkway in Middletown asked customers to visit the restaurant's other location about 5 miles away at 3361 Towne Boulevard in Middletown. The Verity Parkway location's Facebook page listed it as permanently closed.

The North Verity Parkway location closed last week, according to a Towne Boulevard employee who referred further questions to RGT Management Inc., which manages more than 70 restaurants in seven states, according to its website.

Calls to RGT Management were not returned Tuesday.
