JUST IN: New hangars planned for Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport in Miami Twp.

Plans have been proposed to build two new hangars at Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport in Miami Twp.

The hangars would each total about 7,200 square feet and be located between the airport taxiway and Ohio 741 on the property’s west side, according to plans submitted to Miami Twp.

The hangars would be owned by SSKY Hangar Ltd. and Dreamland Ohio LLC, Miami Twp. records show.

The general aviation airport owned by the city of Dayton is located near Interstate 75 and Austin Landing, and has seen growth in recent years.

Records do not list an estimated construction value for the proposed hangars. However, a hangar built by the city of Dayton in 2017 cost about $1 million while one built by The Connor Group last year was valued at about $5 million, township records show.

The Connor Group hangar is considered a top-of-the-line facility that is nearly 2.5 times the size as each of the two proposed sites.
