Indian Creek Tavern expands amphitheater to lure more acts

REILY TWP. — Indian Creek Tavern is amping up its entertainment capabilities with an expanded outdoor area.

The restaurant, at 6206 Main St., Reily Twp., recently cleared out trees behind the business to create an amphitheater with a larger stage for people to enjoy outdoor concerts, comedians and more. The area is surrounded by trees on terrace levels where lawn chairs can be placed.

“Everyone’s just been so excited,” said Sandy Campbell, whose son is an owner of the restaurant. “They got it done quick. People came in here and were amazed.”

Owners Doug Lyon and Brian Campbell, who opened the business more than three years ago, wanted to be able to accommodate big-name acts, and after three weeks of work on the amphitheater, they welcomed country music singer David Allan Coe.

About 900 people attended the show, which included two local bands.

“It’s just been a really good thing. It was a very good first run and more to follow,” Sandy Campbell said.

More acts are being lined up now, with country music singer Doug Stone set to perform at 8 p.m. Oct. 8. Tickets will be $20.
