Florence continues to barrel through the Atlantic as areas on the East Coast prepare for a major hurricane to make landfall.
All eyes are on the coast from South Carolina through Virginia where it’s possible for Florence to make landfall this week.

Main impacts from Hurricane Florence are likely to be life-threatening storm surge, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini said. Flooding from rain as Florence moves slowly onto land and weakens is also a threat for inland parts of these states.

Florence is expected to reach the coast sometime Thursday, possibly as a major hurricane, but the strong winds will arrive sooner.
