“UD police identified the individual suspected of placing this camera shortly after it was discovered by someone using the restroom that evening,” said UD Police Chief Rodney Chatman in the letter. “The suspect, who was a UD student, was barred from campus and has since withdrawn.”
A crucial part of the investigation is to identify the women and men, whose images were recovered from the suspect’s equipment, Chatman said.
The department is investigating the voyeurism case and needs to identify the possible victims so appropriate charges can be filed, the chief said.
“We currently have no evidence that images were uploaded to the Internet or shared by the suspect with others,” Chatman said. “In addition, shortly after the suspect was identified, university staff conducted a sweep of locations frequented by the suspect and found no additional hidden cameras.”
