Gas prices climb across the Miami Valley

Gas prices increased over the last week in Southwest Ohio and the Miami Valley with prices averaging higher than the national average.

Average retail gas prices in Dayton rose 9.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.40 per gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 391 gas outlets in Dayton.

This compares with the national average that climbed 2.1 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.37 a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of gas in Dayton is $2.40, with prices stable. The cheapest gas, as of Monday morning, is $2.35 at Big Daddy's in Dayton at East Third Street and Harshman Road.

In Hamilton, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.42 with prices stable. The cheapest gas is $2.31 at Five Points Market at Grand Boulevard near Tylersville Road.

In Springfield, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.40, with prices stable. The cheapest gas is $2.37 at several locations.
