Man tells mom ‘I love you’ while being arrested on warrant

UPDATE @ 3:16 P.M.:

A Carlisle man, who hid in his attic, was taken into custody this morning by the Warren County SWAT unit.

Steven Sexton, 47, of the 900 block of Wilshire, was wanted on felony drug charges out of Kentucky, said Carlisle Police Chief Mike Bruck. When Carlisle officers tried to arrest Sexton at 4 a.m., he hid in the attic, Bruck said.

Officers then called in SWAT and Sexton was arrested without incident four hours later, Bruck said. During the four-hour standout, relatives left the house, police said. Brock said his officers felt the “safest” move was to call in SWAT.

No one was injured, Bruck said.

Besides being charged with drugs, Sexton faces obstructing official business and inducing panic charges, Bruck said. Sexton was transported to the Warren County Jail.
