Daylight increases as winter ends

DAYTON —Warmer than normal temperatures continue to reappear this month, and longer days are on the way.

We will gain about two minutes and 30 seconds of daylight each day from Feb. 14 to March 14.

We will see about 10 hours and 42 minutes of daylight on Wednesday, but by March 14 that will have increased to 11 hours and 53 minutes.

Don't forget March 12 begins daylight saving time. We will move our clocks ahead by an hour.

Sunset will occur around 7:40 p.m. by March 14.

Spring officially will begin on March 20th with the vernal equinox.
