One victim taken to hospital via helicopter after farmhouse fire

One person was transported via medical helicopter with burns after a house fire.

Our crew on scene reported that multiple tankers from multiple jurisdictions responded to the fire that was reported around 12:15 a.m. in the 2600 block of New Market Banta Road in Twin Twp.

A firefighter from West Alexandria Fire Department said that water freezing was an issue in extinguishing the fire. Crews had had to pump water between two tankers to prevent it from becoming stagnant and freezing.

The extent of the victim’s injuries are unknown.

The house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
