Florida Georgia Line

Credited for pioneering a subgenre of country music called “bro country,” this duo’s debut single, “Cruise,” was downloaded over seven million times in 2012. They released their fourth album, “Can’t Say I Ain’t Country,” in February. Dan+Shay, Morgan Wallen, and Hardy will open. The show is sold out, but tickets are available on secondary outlets. “Newsies”

This live musical version of the 1992 film starring Christian Bale was nominated for seven Tony Awards, winning two. The backdrop is the New York City Newsboy Strike of 1899. Beck, Cage the Elephant, Spoon

Three giants of indie rock will share the stage for one special evening. The experimental Beck broke through in the 1990s with his lo-fi single, “Loser.” He released his 14th album, “Hyperspace,” this year. The Grammy-winning Cage the Elephant released their fifth album, “Social Cues,” in April. The critically acclaimed Spoon released a greatest-hits album this year. Glier’s Goettafest

Glier’s Goettafest enters its second weekend with two stages of live music (a rock stage and a country stage), activities, games, and goetta variations on comfort foods such as goetta burgers, goetta dogs, goetta fudge, and goetta pizza. Dog Days of Summer

Oxford invites you to show off your pup at this annual doggie parade and contest. Prizes will be handed out for Tallest Dog, Best Dressed Dog, and others. Afterward, browse the massive sidewalk sale by the merchants of High Street. There will also be a farmers’ market, live music, and kids and dog-related activities. Paddlefest

This popular annual event allows outdoor enthusiasts to paddle down the idyllic Ohio River past country that has remained largely unchanged in 100 years. Per usual there will be a Friday Paddler’s Party and a Finish Line Festival. Rent a canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard or bring your own boat. Racing and recreational options are available. The Paddler’s Party starts at the CMRC Schmidt Recreation Complex, 2944 Humbert Ave., Cincinnati, on Aug. 2 at 4 p.m. On-site registration is Saturday, Aug, 3, from 6-8:30 a.m. Registration is $30-$75.
