Kroger expands grocery selection in pilot with Walgreens

A partnership between Kroger and Walgreens could bring meal kits and groceries to Walgreens stores after the success of a pilot.

A pilot program at 13 Walgreens stores in Northern Kentucky, near Kroger’s Cincinnati headquarters, is expanding to offer Kroger Express, a larger selection of 2,300 products selected using customer data.

The Kroger Express concept adds to the limited grocery supply and ability to order and pickup online Kroger orders at the pilot Walgreens stores.

Kroger and Walgreens first announced the pilot in October, hoping to merge Kroger’s grocery services with Walgreen’s pharmacy experience.
